      Nicolas Almagro Sanchez is a professional tennis player born on August 21, 1985 in Murcia, Spain, coached by Antonio David Toro.
     In his career he has won two ATP titles in the 500 Series, 9 of the ATP 250 Series and 4 of the ATP Challenger Series. His best Grand Slam participation has been to reach the quarter-finals at Roland Garros in 2008 and 2010, losing with Rafael Nadal two years.

     At Roland Garros 2008 Andy Murray removed him in second round. His best ranking was number 9 obtained during 2011.
     He participated in the Mediterranean Games Almeria 2005, winning the gold medal with the Spanish also Guillermo Garcia-Lopez 6-2, 7-5.
     He defended Spain in Davis Cup, which was again selected in 2012.

Nicolas Almagro is one of the best players in the world on clay and the best Murcia history. In 2011 was the first in our region that has entered the "Top Ten" of the ATP rankings, getting to date, his best finish, ninth in the ranking, on May 2.

Began playing tennis at age eight in Algezares Tennis Club, with the help of his two older brothers, who bought him his first racket.
     With only nine he entered the Tennis School of Murcia, where his unusual and impressive speed glued surprised Antonio González, his trainer. The instructor remembered the Murcia player's first steps with these words: "As a child he could win the greatest."
At 11 years old, Nicolas Almagro came to his first Championship of Spain, in the junior category, clinching the win. Only two years later revalidated victory in the cadet category and managed to win the Youth Olympic Games which were held in Murcia.

Actually Nicolas Almagro, who won the tournament in 2008 and 2011, debuted at the Brazil Open and he did win, defeating 6-3, 6-7, 6-3 win over Romanian Victor Hanescu, in mourning for more than two hours duration.
