The Impossible

The Impossible is a film based on a true story, because tell what happens to a spanish family that goes to Thailand for holidays and survives a tsunami. It's a really hard film, because you can see the change in life of thousand of people that produces an event that lasts only 15 minutes. It makes you reconsider the importance of the life, but the main thing is the importance of being supportive. It shows that is in the tragedies where really we are supportives, and It's in this moments where insignificants acts can save the live of a person.
The film narrate that Maria, Henry and their children went to Thailand for christmas holidays, and while they were being in the hotel's pool, a giant wave struck the coast. María managed find her son Lucas and both went to a hospital. There operated to María because she was very serious, and while they was waiting in the hospital, Lucas helped people that had lost their family. At the same time, Henry managed to find his other two sons Simon and Thomas, and he carried them to a safe place. But he left them to search his wife and his other son. After a lot of coincidences, whole family met again and returned home.
Personally, I think that the best of this film it's not the story, is the form that it is counted, the feelings that it produces and how it does people reconsider. Because it must be really hard to make this film so realistic, and it must have cost a lot of work, so my congratulations to all producers.
Except the actors who are americans, this film was directed by a spanish person (Juan Antonio Bayona) and was recorded in the City of Light (Alicante). In this video we can see a short part of the editing that is incredible:

I think when we watch a film we don't value all the work that there is behind it, and when we do it, is when we realize the importance of smal details.

¿Fair match?

Yesterday, the 5th March, Manchester United played against Real Madrid CF, and many people are wondering about the headline question. That is because of the red card that was shown to Nani, a fundamental player for the Red Devils, at the beginning of the second part of the game. Even though Mourinho said that the winner (Real Madrid) wasn't the best team I think it was a fair victory.

To explain why, let’s analyze the second half of the match. It started, and 3 minutes later Sergio Ramos socred an own goal accidentally after Welbeck touched the ball. After that, Real Madrid put his men helping the strikers, very offensively, but Manchester kept trying to score another goal. But that was until Nani kicked Arbeloa and he saw the red card. Here is the first doubt of the second half: Was the referee right by showing Nani the red card? When I saw the repetition I saw that Nani had put the leg very high, and I consider that dangerous playing. But he didn't just move the leg, he hit Arbeloa in the chest, reminding me of the kick that Xabi Alonso received in the World Cup final. That's why for me Nani had to go sit in the bench.

And here is the second doubt of the second part: Would the same thing have happened if Nani hadn’t been shown the red card? After Nani left the match, Manchester stopped attacking and the whole team start to defend, but Real Madrid kept doing the same thing, having posession of the ball, but with one more man attacking, because Arbeloa, a deffender, was substitued by Modric, an offensive player. So Madrid was attacking better, but United was deffending better, too. That's why I think Nani wouldn't have been important the rest of the match, because Nani is an offensive player and Manchester needed deffending then.

In the minute 65, Modric scored a good goal by overtaking a deffender and shooting from about 30 metres from De Gea's goal, who couldn't do anything to stop the powerful shot, that hit the post before it came into the goal.

In the minute 68, the second goal arrived by the hand of Cristiano Ronaldo. Modric started the play passing the ball to Higuaín, that was in the right side of the box, next to Özil, who recieved and gave back the ball with the hill. Then, Higuaín passed the ball near the left post, where Ronaldo would score the second goal for Real Madrid. But he didn't celebrate the goal, because Manchester United had been his team until 2009 and he respected that.

After that, Real Madrid did a substitution: Pepe came in and Özil went out. That way, Real Madrid had again 4 defenders, a good decision because Manchester had to score 2 goals and the whole team would attack since then.

United played better than Madrid the rest of the match, and they had many chances to score, but Diego López was inspired and he didn't let any Devil to score. He did 3 magnificent stops, which saved Real Madrid from defeat.

So, was it a fair match? In my opinion, yes, it was.

It isn't a good film if it hasn't got a good BSO.

The Miserables is one of the most important novels of the 19th century, written by Victor Hugo, which is about the justice, the religion and the ethic. It happens after French Revolution and this masterpiece is divided in four different volumes, and each of them introduces one character and his life in the story. But I don't want to talk about the book; I’m going to talk about the film.

Normally, a film can’t be compared with a book; these last are almost always better. But in that case, the film “The Miserables”, with Tom Hooper as the director, come with a fantastic soundtrack, and that’s my weak spot. The 2012 film has an excellent cast and, as in almost every American musical, there aren’t any voiceover actors; they also sing. So, the cast is assigned in this way:

Hugh Jackman as Jean Valjean. This is main character, who was in prison 19 years because he had stolen a piece of bread, and when his sentence end, he try to steal again, this time, to the Digne’s bishop, but he is discovered by the police and the bishop hide him telling that the stolen objects were a present. In that moment, Jean Valjean realizes that he’s a miserable and he wants to become a good person, so they break his probation and decide to start a new life.

Russell Crowe interprets Javert, the prison guard. He’s the authority and the law, and he won’t rest in peace until he catches Jean Valjean.

Anne Hathaway as Fantine, a woman who has to prostitute herself because she loses her job and she needs to send some money to her secret daughter Cosette.

The character Cosette was interpreted by Isabelle Allen (as a child) and by Amanda Seyfried (as an adult). Cosette is Fantine’s daughter, who lives with Mr and Mrs Thénardier. When his mother Fantine dies, Jean Valjean decides to adopt her.

As Marius Pontmercy we’ve got Eddie Redmayne. This character is a young boy who supports the revolution against the new French king and who, in that moment, falls in love with Cosette.

Samantha Barks (as an adult) and Natalya Wallace (as a child) interpret Eponine, who is Mr and Mrs Thénardier biological daughter. As a child, she had got everything she wanted, but in her adultness he realizes that in facts she has nothing, because she love Marius and he doesn’t love her back. She shows her courage at the end of the story.

Daniel Huttlestone as Gavroche, a little street boy with a very brave heart and  a revolutionary spirit.

In my opinion, music is indispensable in this work, because every story it’s different of each other, but every one is full of powerful feelings which can’t be expressed in words, but also can’t be silenced. All of these songs, from the beginning to the end of the film, are amazing, emotional and with a hard story to tell us.
Here, there are some of these fantastic songs:
